Get this straight!
"Friction is not action."
Friction is the result of action and reaction together! Body "A" is moving on body "B" from east to west. Hence it is applying a force on body "B" from east to west.
Body "B" tries to resist that motion by applying an equal and opposite force from west to eat. This force is applied by body "B" on body "A"..
The combined effect of these two forces will tend to reduce the speed of movement of "A".... So body "A' will have deceleration(negative acceleration) which slows it down.
So, Friction itself is not action... it is a result of action & reaction combined.

Good question. Action-reaction can be confusing. Use this notation for the answer: If Fab is the action, then Fba is the reaction. Here Fab is the force exerted on a by b and Fba is the force exerted on b by a.
So, when there is relative motion between a body A and table T, and we consider the force of friction exerted on the body A by the table surface (FAT), the reaction is naturally the force (FTA) exerted on the table surface by the body A. Better to use AT and TA as subscripts.

your answers are incorrect, so far. friction DOES have an equal and opposite reaction. to see this, try the following experiment. Glue sandpaper to the side of a block, also, glue a strip of it to a reasonably small wooden board (has to be reasonably light weight for demonstration purposes). Place your wooden board on a fairly smooth surface and then put the block down (sandpaper side down on top of the sand paper on your board). Now, take a firm hold on the block, push it down a little bit to increase the friction even more between the block and the board, and slide it forward. If you've set this up alright, you'll notice that the block, if it moves at all, only moves little, while the board reacts by moving forward in the direction of your push. Now let's look at the forces:
1) you push on the block with your hand, the block pushes back on your hand with an equal and opposite force. You are much more masseous than the block, so the block is the one that moves forward.
2) The block moves forward along the surface of the board. The frictional forces ARE NOT THE EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION. instead they are an entirely independant drag force. Essentially, they push the block backwards against the direction of motion. the block, at the same time, exerts an equal and opposite force on the surface of the board. Because the force of friction is great enough and you're pushing the block hard enough, this equal and opposite reaction should actually drive the board in the experiment backwards. TADA, you've just witnessed Newton's laws of motion first hand

if friction is the action movement with wear in the opposite side is the reaction.
for eg. 2 objects sliding against each other, if friction is the action between them so force required to make them slide over each other is increased the amount of increase in force reqd. is the reaction, also it can be taken that with the same force the ezxtent to which the sliding takes place is the reaction along with wear to which the body is subjected to is also a part of the reaction.

fricition is the resitance acting opposite to motion in orderto hinder the motion .there are two tyes of fricition static and dynamic. in both the conditions only our motion opposes the friction to put the object in motion

Friction is a force which opposes motion, and it only acts when there is motion. This "equal and opposite " thing doesnt apply here. if an object is moving friction will act in the opposite direction and slow the thing down, otherwise you would just go on forever!

the reaction is also friction but it is now an opposing force that is if the body moves forward (action)the friction is in the backward direction thus the reaction will be in the forward direction.

friction itself is an opposing force.friction arises when 2 surfaces interact lets say we slide 2 books on each other,the force exerted by the book on top is opposed by friction.this friction is nothin but the opposite force exerted by the book beneath. in a pair of sliding surfaces both exert a force on each other.one of these 2 forces is interchangeably called friction.in general cases such as walkin n driving the force exerted by the ground is termed friction....however in case of 2 books the term friction is used interchangeably
