These folks have been banging crap around in their apartment lately. And they have one of those super loud home entertainment systems. I don't even know if the father even works anymore. The man is home all the time. I have gone over there six times already asking him to turn the home entertainment system down. At first he would and now he claims he doesn't even use it (bogus). And now he is home all day banging around in the kitchen next to our wall. How can I solve this. I am going mad! This is louder than normal activity! There is alot of force behind these bangs. It comes through our wall as if the wall wasn't even there.

you've spoken to him. Contact your landloard or property manager. Get them to come over when the person is being excessivly noisy. Problem though is that most states don't care if there is excessive noise durrign the day. Only between 10 pm an like 7 am is termed "quiet Hours". Now if he is making alot of noise durring those hours, you could call the cops, though they would come in with a tool to measure the decibles and if it's within reasonable bounds, they won't care. Your Manager is your best bet. express your concerns, however be wary that the person making the noise will have a couhnterattack. Don't lie either, it will make you look a fool (and look like a hyper sensitive person too). It will also not make you sit too well with your neighbor.

I make the coment about looking hypersensitive for this reason. I have a neighbor downstairs. She was complaining about noise in our apartment. When she got the manager to listen, my fiance went down to. He put the system at the same volume as he always does. She insisted that everyone stand absolutly still, don't talk and you'll hear it. You had to bairly breath to hear it. The manager said that there is no issue. Later she came pounding ou our door at 11 pm... I was reading and my fiance was making a snack. Our tv was not on. She said "Turn it down". My thought "turn what down? My page turning?" Obviously she didn't think who was making the noise, she just thought it was us. Be sure you are accusing the right person too.

I had the same problem. The only way to solve is to write an official complaint to management. After several complaints, they have right to question them. Also, if the local police department gets involved, the consequences of not quieting down might be severe (dealing with law enforcement is not pretty). My neighbors were so loud that eventually got evicted, and that was a blessing.

Get some neighbors to come into your apartment to "witness" what is going on.

Whever you hear his system on, go get the man you're talking about and have him come into your apartment. He can witness it firsthand.

Make just as much noise as he does. It might relieve some of your tension to bang things around!

Report them to the building manager. If necessary call the police when they are super loud next time. You should not have to confront them.

If all fells just move.

Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans! Tell him to turn the focking thing down or you will call the Scotland Yard on him (or the Pinkerton Detectives)

Complain to the leasing office......have the mnger or one of the agents come into your apt while he's doing this so they can see it's disrupting your right to "peaceful enjoyment". (I'm a realitor and the right to "peaceful enjoyment" under the Renters statues is a federal law so it applies to all 50 states)

Ive had the same problem. Either tell your landlord he should be able to help. Or call the police. Good luck.
