Got enough skymiles to go anywhere but only have one week of vacation to use for this so I don't want to use two or three days just for travel. I've even got some hotel points from holiday inn for almost a week but not set on using those.
Any suggestions on unusal locales would be appreciated.

MALAYSIA！！！！！！you'll find great sandy beaches where the sea is blue and the sand totally white; and you could see right through the water and and see fishes swimming! My favourite Beach = Pulau Redang
Other than that, there're friendly people, GREAT! food; and a huge variety too! There're such a lot of different ethnic groups there that you can easily find Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese...... etc. and even a couple of deutsches Bierhaus. =)
Shopping is great in Kuala Lumpur and you could even visit the rain forests and go for extreme sports!

Well I am not sure where you are from to know where is close but I am going to assume American. Why don't you try Victoria, British Columbia. It is so pretty. It is very British with wonderful pubs and shops. They have a wonderful wax musuem and amazing killer whale tours. You are pretty much guarenteed to see whales. They have lots of romantic bed and breakfasts. You can go down to the fishermans market and feed seals as well. Or if you go a couple hours north on Vancouver island then you can see the rain forests outside of Tafino which are amazing. They also do whale tours from there.
Another romantic destination in Canada is Montreal or Quebec city. They are old French cities.
If you want to go south then I would see where you could get a direct flight too in South or Central America. I have heard Belize is beautiful and cheep. Brazil would be cool too.

Park City, Utah ---- fun time skiing the best time to go would be from Dec thru Feb and the Sundance film festival is held there in I think Feb every year and a lot of movie stars and people come from all over the place it's a fun time.

Depends really on where you're coming from and what your interests are. Personally, I live in Phoenix, so a trip to the Grand Canyon isn't interesting for me, but many people find it amazing.
Napa Valley, CA offers wine tours, hot air balloon rides, you can go check out the redwoods, drive to the coast...endless possibilities.
We did Gatlinburg, TN for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. Just don't stay in the touristy places in town. We stayed at a golf resort in the mountains and never ran out of things to do.
