Good for you!! It is very important to always realize that only you have the power to hurt your own feelings. To give this power to others is to forget that you are never not OK. Regardless of what you do, you, the Core Spiritual Reality within You, is never not OK.
That others have a need to mock, ridicule, diminish, or criticize is merely an indication of who they believe themselves to be. If one has knowledge, then share it. To criticize another for not meeting ones own expectations displays an absence of knowledge.

I am going to assume that you are relatively young. True? Teens, 20's? If you were older, (30's +), I would expect that you would have already learned that the world is tough and cruel at times. Yahoo Answers is no different. In fact, I have had quite the opposite impression. I have seen some people give some really sincere and thoughtful and well-informed answers.
Perhaps you should be careful though about what you ask and how you word the question. Sometimes the way you ask a question invites people that are trying to be funny to take a shot at you. For example, if you ask "Blah, blah, blah, what's wrong with me?" You are assured to get some people that will reply "you are a loser" or "everything is wrong with you!" etc.

I don't get my feelings hurt, frankly I am just much too shallow for that. However, I do post in a lot of opinion based catagories, and as is to be expected people sometimes do not like my opinions. I generally try to be polite whenever posting, I don't see that name calling serves anyones interests, unfortunately not everyone follows that simple courtesy. I often get hate mail telling me how stupid or wrong I am, as if this is going to somehow change my opinion on the subject. Cest la vie I guess. Best advice is not to take the people on Yahoo Answers to seriously. Those who would denigrate you are not worth the mental energy required to deal with them on most days.

I have not been hurt but a few times I have been saddened by the questions because some have reflected a dark side to personalities that is distressing.
Most of the questions and answers are good though.

You really can't let all of these total strangers affect you like that. In the long run, none of us will ever really make any kind of difference in your life. You don't need to harden yourself, just get some perspective.

I have seen a few very offensive remarks, but I never took them personally. I think their goal was to offend, and if others take their nasty remarks seriously, they make that goal. But I truly believe that most people are not trying to be mean. They may be trying for sarcastic humor, which some think is very funny, others don't.
I am glad you have hardened enough to not let these people bother you. You should never be upset over something you read on the internet. :)
Good luck!

IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR MANY PEOPLE TO GET THEIR JOLLIES BY HURTING PEOPLE, THEY ARE INVISIBLE AND OH SO BRAVE, YOU GOTTA ADMIRE THEM, RIGHT? THEY THINK THAT BY BEING A SMART A S S THEY'RE COOL BUT THEY NEED A WAY TO MAKE THEMSELVES FEEL BETTER BY MAKING OTHERS FEEL STUPID FOR ASKING QUESTIONS. WHICH IS THE EXACT POINT OF ANSWERS. SO WHO IS THE DUMB ONE, YOU OR THEM? THE INTERNET DEFINITELY ISN'T A PLACE FOR SISSIES! THERE ARE A LOT OF NICE PEOPLE HERE SO DON'T LET THE BULLIES CHANGE WHO YOU ARE, THEY'RE IDIOTS!

Yes, I agree. Because this is anonymous, people are free to say whatever they want w/o the prospect of being confronted. But I think you have to just ignore - people are going to be ignorant. There's nothing you can do about it.

what people say on here are opinions...and you know what they say about opinions. Don't let it bother you. There are people who really want to help and give good advise. Some just want the points.
