this is not a free number and may even cost you up to 10p a minute (or more if it is a scam line which works by charging you a premium rate to use their helpline). call your operator and ask them to check how much a call to this number would cost for you.

as they are calling you over & over just wait for them to call you again. if you are still curious type the whole 0845 number into a google search.

I would not phone any numbers back unless you know them.I have seen a program about a new type of scam where they use some sort of software and it shows up on your phone as a 0845,0870 or even a 0800 number, but when you call it back, its actually connecting to a premium rate number costing anything upto £1.50 a minute. They purposely either hang up as you answer or only let it ring a short time......beware

Phoning an 0845 is charged at the local rate. You seem to have been phoned by a telemarketing phone dialer. An automated phone dialer will dial the phone numbers it has been given. Once someone answers, the phone dialer will transfer the phone to a telemarketer to speak to you. If you don't know answer, some will keep ringing back for a period of time (the time period being programmed into the phone dialer).

I've been getting quite a few on my landline just recently, and I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

I Usually ask them for the callers full name, the companys full name and address and telephone number. Then the callers home addess and telephone number. I say I will not answer any of their questions until they provide all the infomation I requested.

If I get all the infomation I then say I do not give personal infomation to strangers and hang up.

The callers do not want to give any infomation, and if they do I pass it on to the Telephone Preference Service.

Block it if you can but don't ever ring them back - I know of one that will cost you £15 (about $19) just to answer,if you listen it could be costing anything a minute - you will never get the money back, they close down and open in another name and place or country;they rely on our instict or manners to rob us of cash-look at these site's for the truth about all those con's.

I recommend that place your number in the Do Not Call list.
After that in about a month or so Telemarketers should not bother you any longer.
Word of advice if you do not recognize the number do not call it back. It could wind up costing quite a bit..

If i were you i wouldn't phone it back anymore as often these can be a scam to get you to call it back and you're charged a huge amount of money. Report it to BT as this is total unreasonable harrassment. They can monitor calls and investigate it for you.
