But before you start listing things you don't like about the world and life, pretend you've regurgitated the fruit from the tree of good and evil. So now you don't see things as good or evil, they just are. Life.

Life everywhere. Living, dying, doing it's thing. Like in a forest.

If one sees the world that way, could they already be in the Garden of Eden, having never left in the first place?

Paradise is where you make it. If you live with joy, and share that joy with others, you are there. It doesn't mean that you have to be "Little Mary Sunshine" all the time. There are some sad things and bad things that happen, and it is appropriate to have genuine feelings about them. However, overall - if you are happy to see another sunrise every day, then you have created your own Eden.

Remember, some people brighten a room by entering, others by leaving. ;-)

Because I've been stuck in front of this damned computer screen, plus 6 more, for 10 hours, and still have 2 more to go home.

If that's someones idea of the Garden of Eden then they must be mad.

Also, to believe in the Garden of Eden you have to believe in the bible ... and the bible is complete fiction

The Garden of Eden refers to the "first human civilization"...where humans were first born so to speak. Whether you believe in evolution or if we were just zapped here by God...no matter...because we would have had to spawn from something and would have had to have one particular starting place before we branched off and migrated to populate the Earth.

So when ppl want to find the Garden of Eden they want to find the first civilization of mankind. Now that would be one hell of an archeology find.

Same way that I know I'm not in the setting of any other fictional story: I make sure that I'm not still asleep and dreaming. My usual trick, which I learned from the movie "Waking Life," is to try to turn the lights on/off. Light switches never work in my dreams.

Your line of reasoning leads to the idea that lesser animals do live in your Garden of Eden, but humans would have to have most of their brain removed before they would revert to that concept.
