If you are poor enough & your government is on the list OLPC policy & you are kid, then you can get a free laptop. This OLPC is not exactly what i would call a laptop, it looks more like a toy to me. But as the name goes One Laptop Per Child, this is supposed to be a laptop. Talks have been around that some countries are going to give away to poor kids with funding from UN.

Never heard of a place you can get a laptop for free but good luck in finding one just the same...

Does it have to work?
If not, a junk warehouse.
Why not go to a local big business, especially an insurance company and see whether they are updating their computers. Some will give away older computers if the cause is good enough.
