I've been on there for a few months & I'm wasting my time talking to people i'd normally never talk to & it all seems so fake- what are some reasons for staying on???

I like it. I can check on my friends every once in a while and see what they are up to. Most people are fake. Myspace just brings it out more. :)

I have reconnected with many people from places I have lived and been. I probably never would have seen these people again, but it is really nice to see someone on there or they see you and go "hey, I know you....remember when..." Also, I have been able to talk to a few true celebrities that I NEVER would have. You just have to listen, b/c they will give out their myspace addresses during interviews and tell whether they answer their own or not, but be careful there are alot of fakes out there too!

I have my profile set to Private, and I only add my friends and bands. Every once in a while I'll talk with people I don't know. If it's just a pointlesss waste of time then I delete them.
I love myspace because I think of it as an artistic outlet. I , also, love connecting with old friends who have moved. I use it for networking as well. I have gotten modeling, dance, and acting gigs through the contacts I've made through myspace.
Stay on myspace if it's worthwhile to you. If not, then delete your page if you like. What's great for one person doesn't have to be great for another.

I think MySpace is annoyingly cliche. Even businesses advertise by saying "look us up on myspace!" Not cool.
If you want a user-friendly blog, try livejournal.com. I've been on it for over a year and am very happy with it.

i think im going to get off it too.its sad after a while. u get ppl wanting to be ur friend but then once u added them, u dont even talk to them but one defiantely good t hing is foro networking with ppl of same profession or into the same thing as u so u can ask them stuff. thats the good thing on there.maybe i wont opt out all together. i just dont go on it for sum time tahts all.

It's a good way to hear from people you would otherwise have no way of getting into contact with. You don't have to check it every day or comment on all your "friends" pages to make them feel good.
Just keep yourself active and check your messages once a month. You never know who you'll find, or who will find you.

I like meeting new people & reconnecting with old friends. I am kind of tired of all the advertisements. I have just begun to delete people that do most of that. My profile is on private, just to keep undesirables out.

im on myspace too and i feel the same way but, its just a thrill that ppl go to your profile and just ask to be your friend even though they are total strangers!!!! some are nice but, some are down right rude!!!

I like it because of all the FREE MUSIC !! I can listen to any band I want pretty much, for free, without downloading anything. I think its a great way of networking for artists, musicians, comedians, authors, and of course whores.....but you just have to add things that only interest you.

myspace is kinda dumb afetr awhile. most of the time you go on there, atleast one part of it is down for maintenance so the reliability sucks. people are kinda fake on there. maybe I should get off it.
