Yes. That was their plan when they arranged the event. It was so that they could exploit it for a whole hoast of reasons.
What with up-coming elections, and a need to go to war on Iran, we can see the government conducting a similar hoax soon, and blaming it on Iranians.

Of course it has. The usage of it however is standard practice for our society and our system of politics. It was a galvanizing even that all Americans have an emotional connection to. To not use to illustrate you ideology or political views would make no sense and would be downright stupid.

I do believe it has been misused however, since we are presently at war with a country that had nothing to do with the specific event and remain allies with the country of finanical/physical origin. Our war with Iraq is fueled by the emotions of 9/11. Iraq does have terrorists organization and shares the same core religion with these organizations. However, these organization were, not and have not been government sponsered. Various regimes have supported, but it has never been a consistent policy. Saudi Arabia, has and does support these organizations as has consistently done so as part of its government policy.

Yes, I do "BUT" that's the way Politics has always been in this Country.

Personally, I think it's wrong but I see no change in the foreseeable future, as far as exploiting situations and events.

Politicians, will do or say anything, to get elected...Then once in office, they forget about all the promises made during their campaign.

Are you a liberal that wants to forget & forgive?
It won't work as the terrorists have no respect for weakness.
The terrorists may hate our strength, but they do respect it.

Absolutely, continuously, and unashamedly!

It disgusts me that they continue to use 9/11 as a fear inducing factor and hope we ignore Iraq, Katrina and the erosion of our civil rights.

No. It's a REAL issue. Terrorism is still a threat to us today. The Islamic terrorists are still trying to kill as many of us as possible. Because we haven't had another major attack, people want to forget about the danger.

If someone has a heart attack, is it exploiting their attack to remind them of it when you tell them they should quit smoking, exercise, and eat healthier?
