I can understand that it looks hard for a guy to do it but why the girls - they're always standing around shivering!

because we're hard! we are used to the cold weather, whereas u southerners are soft.

Have you been in half the pubs and clubs up north, you go in them freezing your bits off and get in there and nearly pass out with the heat as there as so many people in the bars here, you put your coat down somewhere and either get it lifted or forget it, other than that were hardy devils up here and can take the cold.

I live in Scotland and I always wear a coat in the winter , even in summer as it's always freezing up here!!

Cos they think it's cool to follow the trend, I think it's cos they would loose them at the end of the night. It's not just a northern thing by the way it happens everywhere very laddish

People get used to their environment, pure and simple.
I live in Taiwan, and people in Taipei wear down-filled winter coats in January when it's 20C (68F). They think it's cold, meanwhile I'm wearing cotton shorts and a t-shirt and sweating.
By the way, I *AM* one of those you talked about. I used to wear t-shirts outside when it hit -10C (14F) back in Canada.

I'm from Manchester and I do wear my coat. So the question is, why do SOME northern girls... ;)

when you get drunk you would just leave it behind at the end of the night,and you dont feel the cold when you are drunk
