The mission is to be undertaken in 2007-2008. This is an indeginious program being designed and carried out by Indian space research organization ISRO. Also, if you are answering this part of the question I would appreciate your views Indian space program as a whole.Thanks.

I think we will be better advised to spend that money on primary and vocational education , employment generation in rural india ,
providing better security to our citizens (who are getting blown by terrorists) and a million other things that we need the most.
i dont understand these expenditures on moon mission and our crazy spending on defense.

India should go ahead with the mission... eduction and poverty has waited for 60 yrs ... it can wait for 5 more years lol. It will take time, noone has suceeded in thier first ever attempt on space missions. But the path is right i guess, we dont wanna be left back .. or atleast we will know where our "intellects" are standing.
