He laid a new floor in the spare bathroom. All that's left is for him to install the shoe moulding so I can put the room back together.
He works in flooring all day long and when he gets home he heads straight for the sofa. How can I entice him to finish the job at home?

Don't know if this will work with your husband, but , when my husband delays something, I begin by saying "are you going to do it" and when he says "i dont' feel like it" I say - "never mind, I will get to it" and then wait about 1/2 hour - and then I start assembling the tools for the job - never fails - he comes running - can't have the wife do what he is supposed to! I never ever end up doing the job! LOL Works well with lawn mowing too - he hates to have people see his wife do the lawn! LOL

Maybe I'm missing something... are you saying that when you asked him to please finish the job so that you can put the room back together he said "no"?

I would say "sweetheart - the room is looking great. I know you work on flooring all day, but WE cannot have the room back until the shoe moulding is installed. Can you do it by Saturday? If not, I'll be happy to arrange a contractor to finish it for you because I know you're tired from a hard day at work."

Sometimes, you need to help people set deadlines.

Come on now! This is such a small matter. Look at us! My wife has been trying to get me off the couch for something like a quarter century now.

In which time two dogs, a smallish python, a pair of budgies and a tarantula (in a mesh cage) have ALSO settled down with me, thus to live happily ever after.

When you find out let me know. My husband started on our spare bathroom at the beginning of the year and hasn't finished it yet. He has also pulled up the carpet in our bathroom! In my opinion you should finish one bathroom first before you begin on another bathroom.!!

Go get estimates on getting the job done, then show them to him. Tell him you're going to hire someone to finish the job if he doesn't want to.

He does not get paid for is homework.
He gets paid for his project.
Why cant you hire some one to do the job.
He will be happy that you care for his project and will love you better.
He knows what is good for you both-Money & More paying projects.
So that you both can be happy.
