Take your girls to your local fabric store and let them look through the halloween pattern book. I get lots of cute ideas there. I have 3 kids...last year they went as m&m's...(very easy to make)..and I went as the brown m&m's bag. We were a hit!

The nine year old would make a cute Peter Pan and the 3 year old could be Tinkerbell. Or how about Elle Woods from Legally Blonde in a pink suit for the 9 year old and the little one could be a puppy dressed in a pink Tutu with a rhinestone collar. I just saw a cute chicken costume with yellow tights and stuffed Playtex dish washing gloves(yellow) for feet all assembled on a white sweatshirt covered in white feathers and stuffed to make the chicken round ( they used an oversize sweatshirt and gathered it above the knee to hold the stuffing in)A white knit cap with a red felt "comb" attached to the top completed the look. A simple beak could be made from yellow sheet fun foam and some elastic. A cute combo would be to make the older girl the chicken and the little one an egg.

I would say for the 3 year old she can be a princess and the 9 year old maybe barbie or a princess I would go with something they both like.

For little girls, you could do witches. Usually girls that age love that kind of stuff. You could try faries and princesses, or something different like a cat. Think of tv shows that little girls would watch, and if they have characters of their favorite characters. Ask them what sort of their interests are too.

Greetings, as you may know, there are many ideas, but I know of one all little girls love, a fairy princess. If you want something you can make, I would suggest a ghost. You can also make a "toga" and have her be a roman goddess. Just think creatively!
