What makes Sean Penn, Sheryl Crow, Sting, or fat Rosie O'Donnel think that their ignorant comments on world politics should mean anything to anyone?
I'm getting so sick of this. Why do we, as American sheeple, not just laugh these idiots to scorn?

Some celebrities are just such attention grabbers that they can't help but believe that people actually care what they think. Because the tabloids delve into their lives down to what they eat for breakfast, they think that the world is interested in their political opinions as well.
Wake up celebrities. Only a small percentage of America reads the trash put out by those magazines. The rest of us really don't care.
The majority of Americans do laugh at these idiots. The problem is that the mainstream media agrees with them, so they make their silly little opinions into news.
Many of them learn the hard way. Imagine how successful the Dixie Twits would be if Natalie had kept her mouth shut. It's sad. They have a great sound and some fun songs, but I refuse to give money to someone who can't shut up and sing. I will not buy their album, and I'm not alone.

I don't. Further I will not support the careers of entertainers with radical political views by seeing their movies, buying their records, or watching their tv shows. So many of these people think their opinions are relevant because they are widely known. I for one just don't agree. They have a right to opinions and free speech just like the rest of us, but fame doesn't make those opinions any more relevant than anyone else's. Legend in their own mind or not. Don't like what they are saying? There is a simple recourse, boycott their product. Without popular support they will lose their forum.
A Reflectio... of You: The problem with your contention is that while the people you mention were actors, they had the courage to put their ideas into practice by running for elected office. Many celebrities want to spout off about what is wrong and what they don't like, then whine when people question or disagree with those opinions. The Dixie Chicks are a prime example of this.

I don't think they're ignorant and I don't think they're trying to "brain wash" anyone. Ever heard of "Freedom of Speech & Press?" I think that's what exactly they were doing. It just happened to be that they're famous and successful compare to you(unfortunately- you probably got nothing like most of us). Like all celebrities, they do whatever the F they want and be responsible.

Or you can write them a letter in response to what they said in the past. What appears is you acting and sounding like a mad man and you believe "laugh" at anyone in this world could make a difference. You think Sean Penn would a give a dam if you "laugh" at him? I don't think so. IF you got something to say about politics, I don't think anyone is going to pick on you, so why pick on celebrities who might have a disagreement with you?

They shouldn't. So they've made some good movies and/or music, and a whole lot of bad movies/music, what makes me think they know anything about anything?
