All officers in the army are exempt from dangerous situations normally. The suckers out front get shot at - the officers stay in a warm bunker giving orders

No reason - after all every human life is precious.
Just because they were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, does not mean they are more priviledged than any other person who is fighting for his or her country.
Secondly, the Royal family is just one more thing the British taxpayers have to support - shouldn't the Royal kids show their appreciation back by being in the army?

No they should not be exempt.
EVERY human life is precious. Besides, the "royal family" in the UK is just a figurehead for ceremonial and traditional purposes.
There would be no interruption in the continuity of government if (God, forbid) one of both were killed. That being said...I wish them both long and happy lives.

No not at all, if they are to be treated different than the rest of the army then why should tax payers money be wasted training them up for something they will never practice or do.

Not at all, in fact I think they'd be fairly brassed off if they were told they couldn't enter into combat because of their titles.
It's the job they chose to do, and fair play to the both of them, too all our boys infact, constantly putting their lives on the line for a cause most of them don't even agree with.

I don't think they would want to be singled out, not to go to a dangerous situation when all their regiment have to go would be awful for them.
All personnel in our armed forces know they could be called upon to fight and some times die for their country.
Lets hope we can get our service men home safe.

not really, being royalty and all automatically gets them a cushy job doing nothing no matter where they go. just because they're in the army doesn't mean they're IN the army.
