I think it determines what part of the country in which you live. I live in the South, and Hash Browns rule down here. Has browns are cooked with oil and margarine, but O'Brien's put too much stuff in theirs. You won't find O'Brien's in fast food restaurants, but you will find friench fries and occassionally hash browns. The best place to find HBs are Huddle house and Waffle House restaurants.
