I was in the hospital for 14 hours...10 hours on pitocin. I had many contractions, none were painful. At the end, I had dialated to a 2. My doctor wants me to try another induction next tuesday (2 days before my due date)
A little background: Baby was turned transverse (sideways) and they wanted me to come in before I go into labor so they could turn her head-down and then induce me to get her out vaginally instead of just jumping the gun and doing a C-Section. When I arrived at the hospital, she was already head-down, so they just went ahead and started the induction. She has now stayed head-down for 3 days. I'm thinking of just telling him I don't want to induce, but wait, now that she is head-down and ready to go. By the way, My first 2 kids were born easily, no complications or problems, but they were both AFTER my due dates.
Any experience or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

I would definately hold off on the induction. It's two early, by your own admission the other 2 children came after your due date. Babies know when its time to be born and it's not time for this baby yet. If you really want to get things going on your own. I would go find a lic. massage therapist who is trained to massage pregnant women, they have pressure points they can work on to get things going, but you have to stay well hydrated after a massage or they can be false contractions. You can also talk to your DR. about taking some evening primrose or doing nipple stimulation. Start drinking a few cup of raspberry tea a day as well it strengthens the uterus.Good Luck and give your body some time you have done this twice before you know what you are doing trust yourself.

I was overdue with my 2nd baby, and I used castor oil to get labor started. It worked! Drop a tbsp. of it into about 8 oz. of juice and knock the whole thing back, then stand by the toilet. You'll be there a while. After you're done, though, you should start having contractions. In my case, the were hard enough to break my water, but I had to go down a flight of stairs on my butt. They were carpeted. Also, keep some water or gatorade around, because diarrhea can make you dehydrated.

I just had my 2nd on June 1 after 3 induction attempts. My first was induced also. Not only did they try prostin treatments (just one for my first ) but they stripped my membranes (for second only). That finally worked. Both were full term babies (meaning more than 37 weeks) and both were induced due to pre-eclampsia. Both are just great! And frankly it was great getting it over with and not having to wait any longer!

Trust your instincts honey, don't let them induce without very good reason. Let the baby come in it's own time. Inductions have a high failure rate so I would wait it out.

I'm really sorry, but patience is all I can suggest. I (and my two friends both pregnant at the same time) were all late and we tried EVERYTHING.
curry didn't work. Rasberry leaf tea is supposed to work - I drank about 40 cups a day. The midwives told us that the best thing is... SEX! Uncomfortable but it stimulates the same hormone.

As long as you are doing fine and the baby is fine...let it come naturally. If after a week after your due date you have no baby, then consider another induction. Good luck and congrats.

IVE HEARD 4 SPOON FULLS OF COD OIL AND A CUP OF ICECREAM DOES THE JOB. ITS SUPPOSED TO GIVE YOU DIARREAH AND THAT SHOULD TRIGGER THE CONTRACTIONS.
