Anthony - do you know what portion of subsidies goes to big business vs. portion to the family farmer? If you have reference I 'd appreciate it. This is a new topic for me.

Farming subsidies, and price controls, are seriously needed.
America is one of the few nations that has a surplus of food, that we can sell globally.
If subsidies don't exist, then the family farm would crash, like in the depression. Price controls keep the food prices level. If they dropped very low, say good-bye to all of our farmers--and good luck getting food to eat.
And the benfefits of subsidizing ethanol, as a fuel alternative are astounding!
Both parties support it!
