It's very liberal. Though, I support that the tax should be put on fatty foods instead, and not on fat people.

just more taxes to go into the pockets of the greedy politicians.. ya know what.. i think they (the politicians) should start paying taxes.
since it's obvious that there's never enough money and when there is an emergency or the taxpayer needs assistance (for real not just because they feel they deserve it now) there's nothing... they can't get help or there's no money or there's an emergency and suddenly there's a dire call for help and charity then after that... the charity money goes to things it wasn't suppose to go to.. and and and and....
so on.
fat tax.. hehe.. how about a politicians tax? they should start paying.
maybe it'll show them the value of the tax dollar for a change.
taxes are very much, we get very little all around in the refund, program and where the taxes are suppose to go to help whatever it was assigned for.... it's almost a huge waste.
so if they waste they should haste and pay some income tax themselves.
it's only right.. it's our dam money going into their pockets so.. why don't they give a little cut from their take and just taste the flavor of "unfufilled nessessities" like the rest of us choke down.
instead of wagging their fingers at us telling how how shameful we are that all our money is going down the toilets of their desires.
instead of emergencies, catastrophes, programs and other.
dam jerks!
FAT TAX THIS!
ya know what? spell check isn't working the little arrows spin and spin and spin so screw it yahoo! i'm not using your spell check any more if folks can't take the fact i typo alot and i have rented fingers SCREW THEM too.
typo TAX.

First it was smoking ,now it is fat tax. There are many people out there that believe everyone should lead their lives the way these people do. knows where it will end, maybe a blonde tax, short tax.tall tax. These special interest groups are never satisfied and are always looking for some other thing in the world they want to change to their way of thinking

You'll want to be careful going down this road. It may sound like a good idea, but then why not a tax on skis, lift tickets, skateboards, rock-climbing equipment, scuba gear, football equipment, bicycles, and everything else that is more likely to cause people to end up in the hospital?

They do it for smokers and do not use much of that money for smoking related problems.
I agree with medic on the plane tickets.
For kay, people have no choice when it comes to their race. The comparison is idiotic. It would be the same as to compare a smoker in that way.

This will not solve the problem. It will only force low-income families to consume cheaper and unhealthier foods because of lack of funds. I like a previous posters suggestion of taxing unhealthy foods (like fast food etc). We already do this for alcohol and tabacco. But discriminating against the obese is very unamerican.

Well I am a larger lady (yes, i'm fat) and i think it is disgusting that they could even consider that as acceptable. Surely we help financially already with the amount of food we buy! lol. People cant be segregated in that way, just like you couldnt charge different races different taxes.

No. There should be a thin tax to discourage anorexia in adolescent females. Kate Moss has got enough f***ing money to buy cocaine - she can contribute to the NHS.

I thought that there was an attempt to make anyone who has a higher risk of needing to use the nhs was going to be made to pay more tax. Aparantly not.
They should though, or they should ration food again - judging by all the photos and books, you didn't get many fat people during the war.
But only ration unhealthy foods, because otherwise that's being unfair to healthy people ase well.

Such people already contribute huge amounts to the economy from purchasing food. Let's not charge the fatties even more.

It is not really feasible for the U.S. government to issue tantamount fines to people who are unfortunate in their medical and physical condition. We may oppose the cruel and indecent ways of many government policies, but it is nice to reflect on the fact that there is a whole lot of ridiculousness and unfairness that we do not see in the United States.
