Are there other bridesmaids? If so, you should definitely coordinate since obviously you will be able to see the shoes. What color are her wedding colors other than black? Maybe you can accessorize with that color :)

Strappy or peep toe with a moderate heel is probably good. Remember you are going to be on your feet for quite a while. Ankle straps will be good if you're planning on dancing.
