Assuming its the drain you're talking about, the cause could be a few things. The first and easiest thing to do is to check the strainer in the bottom of the dishwasher for debris. If it is clogged there, just remove the debris. The second thing to check is if the dishwasher is actually pumping the water out when it should. If not, it could be a defective switch or a burned out or jammed pump. The third would be a clog in the drain line. Usually it connects to the side of your garbage disposal. Before checking this line, run water through the disposal to make sure the clog isn't beyond the disposal. If its between the disposal and dishwasher, you will likely find the clog at the connection at the disposal.
Hope this helps.

If it is the door then you must rotate the cycle mechanism until the automatic lock opens. You may need to tum it tot the normal start or open spot and jiggle it a little. Try this 2-3 times and see if it doesn't release.
If you are talking about clearing the drain, then take out the racks, remove the guard from the drain and then use whatever you have around (knife, tweezers, fingers, pliers) to remove what ever is clogging the drain. Chances are it will be very easy to clean like this but you might have to make a hook out of a clothes hanger and gently manipulate that until you clean it out. Good luck.

Drain? Open bottom panel, loosen clamps, remove drain hose from pump and the other end from drain tee. Replace. More than likely it's kinked and not clogged. Hose tends to kink from heated water and sags until no longer allowing water to flow through. If stiil won't pump out then it's the pump that is clogged. Does the sink drain flow freely?
