some say it's spasms in the diaphragm, some say it's too much oxygen in the blood (that's what a nurse told me once) and some say it's related to heart regulation.. the bottom line is that all of these could be possible, and at sometimes may be true.. and I'm sure there are many many more possible reasons that sometimes are the cause for some people. it involves so many systems in the body that it would seem any number of small things could cause it.. i know that's kind of vague, but it's probably about as good an answer as you are going to get from anyone.

I was told that hiccups are very short seizures. Hope Not!
