step 1 convert into improper fractions
step 2 find the LCD
step 3 convert all fractions with the LCD as the denominator
then add or subtract as the case might be

1.22/7+12/5=110/35+84/35
=194/35

2.97/12-19/4=97/12-57/12
=40/12=10/3

3.22/7*1/8=22/56=11/28

To do those, you're able to transform blended fractions (including 8 a million/4) to basic fractions; you besides mght could detect a undemanding denominator at times. a million. 8 a million/4 - 2 3/4 8 = 32/4, so 8 a million/4 = 35/4; 2 = 8/4, so 2 3/4 = 11/4. 35/4 + 11/4 = 40 six/4, or 23/2. If the respond could be in blended form, smiplify by making use of dividing the denominator into the numerator to get the entire-selection section; something is the fractional section. contained on the subject of 23/2, divide 23 by making use of two to get 11; something of a million is the fraction, so the respond is 11 a million/2. ------------------ 2. 11/12 - 2/3 here we desire a undemanding denominator. in case you multiply 2/3 by making use of four/4 (which equals a million, so it would not substitute something), you get 8/12. Now the subtraction may well be completed: 11/12 - 8/12 = 3/12, or a million/4. ----------------- 3. (you ignored the operator here -- is it + or - ? i will do the two, just to conceal all bases.) 3 a million/2 + a million a million/4 3 = 6/2, so 3 a million/2 = 7/2. a million = 4/4, so a million a million/4 = 5/4. Get a undemanding denominator by making use of multiplying 7/2 by making use of two/2, yielding 14/4. 14/4 + 5/4 = 19/4. In blended form, 19/4 = 4 3/4. If this grew to become right into a subtraction concern, 14/4 - 5/4 = 9/4. In blended form, 9/4 = 2 a million/4. ------------- A tessellate shape looks like a mosaic or a tiled floor -- diverse little aspects, regularly squares (or maybe triangles or hexagons), masking an area.

you must understand that multiplying the top and bottom of a fraction by the same amount does not change the value becasue 3/3 = 5/5 = 12/12 = 1

1/2 * 4/4 = 1/2 * 1

1/2 = (1 * 4) / (2 * 4) = 4/8

To add or subtract fractions the demoninators (bottoms) must be the same.

22/7 + 12/5 a common denominator = 35; (7*5)
so multiply the first by 5/5
and the secong by 7/7

(22*5) / (7*5 ) = 110/35
(12*7) / (5*7) = 84/35

(100+84)/35 = 184/35

Hey hey this is how it works

3 1/7 means 3 and then 1/7 i.e. 3 whole and 1/7 fraction. This is mixed number fractions.

If u see 3 whole and 1/7 then it really will be 22/7 .As 7 * 3 + 1 =22

this is how it works.

2 2/5 means 2 and then 2/5 i.e. 2 whole and 2/5 fraction. This is mixed number fractions.

If u see 2 whole and 2/5 then it really will be 12/5 .As 2 * 5 + 2 =12

3 1/7 is a mixed number. u have to change it into an improper fraction. how? u multiply the whole number (3) by the denominator (7) then add the numerator (1).and the denominator stay the same (7). thats how u get 22/7.

btw, the numerator is the upper part of the fraction, the denominator the bottom part.

hope it was clear =)

3 1/7 is a mixed fraction which has been changed to composite fraction. to change from mixed to composite u should first multiply the denominator of the fraction in this 7*3 we get 21 and 1 to it it is the numerator of the given fraction here we get 22 then the composite fraction is 22 numerator and 7 is the denominator
we get 22/7
now u can practice and get the answer

They all must be changed to a common denominator first, then its like adding and subtracting.
