my child doesn't obey my house rules. My child skips school. She thinks everyone else will help so she doesn't take responsibilty. I still have other children I am raising. I don't need to get in trouble because she skips school. What can I do? What are the laws in ga about children getting emancipated?

"In other cases, a parent may force the minor to leave and support him/herself. Generally, parental consent is required, except in cases of parental misconduct that causes the mnior to leave the home. Emancipation may cease to make a parent liable for the acts of a child, including debts, negligence or criminal acts. State laws on emancipation vary, so local laws should be consulted for specific requirements in your area."

best of luck

She has to want to be emancipated, it is up to her. The courts won't do it either unless she's responsible in school, has a job to support her and the baby. I'm not sure but I THINK in some places once they have a baby they are considered adults but I could be wrong on that. What about the baby's father? Can't he help or is he not around? What about her father is he not around? Maybe he could help out. It sounds like your doing all the work.

Youngsters need boundaries..talk to your daughter quietly but firmly tell her what you expect of her..if she wont comply for the sake of your other children you will have to seek professional help..make this clear to your daughter...at 15 she should know better especially as she has child herself..I think you need to act with some urgency...this situation needs resolving or handing on to some one in authority who can help you both.

I do not have an answer for you, but I just wanted to let you know that I am sorry you are having such a hard time.

Call social services and ask them for advice. Sometimes they can be a great source of information. Good luck
