Children are far more intuitive when it comes to such things, and no, I don't think she needs to see a therapist. I'd say try to keep an open mind. When I was very young, I was able to see things and know things before they happened, that sort of thing, but I apparently grew out of it. This is the case with most people. She just may be telling you the truth.

My son at 5 yrs old would not have known what a ghost was, as I never would have allowed him to be exposed to that kind of stuff at his age...but, if you are uncomfortable in that house, and you are only renting it ...and not an owner...just move.
I would NEVER take a five year old to a therapist because of some silly ghost thing. I would tell her there are NO such things as ghosts...ask her where she ever heard about ghosts and then diffuse her fears for her - a mother should be able to do that - you don't need a therapist for that. If you actually think this is real...and not just a poor frightened little girl that either saw something on tv she shouldn't have - or overheard an adults conversation that she shouldn't have, and you really really do believe that those incidents in your house weren't just accidents or happenstance and a ghost was running around turning up your stove and microwave?..then just move to give yourself peace of mind..or maybe see a therapist yourself..if you think that might help. But above all I think most important is to dispel and not encourage your 5 year old daughter's fears and beliefs by appearing to believe them yourself in front of her.
Good luck to you.

hmm if its bad seek help
i 100% believe in ghosts i work with one in my store and she is such a playfull thing, she hides things up, turns the radio on higher and opens doors! she is nothing to be scared of which is the same for MOST spirits.
From what you have said though it does seem you have the spirit of a child in your home who is intent on causing trouble. This may sound whack but i would speak to your local vicar about getting your house blessed if it is causing you so much concern.
If you are not scared of the spirit do a little research about you home and see who has lived and died there, you may be suprised. The spirit i have in my store is a woman in her mid 30's and she died upstairs in a fire... when i turn the alarm off in the morning and close the door to upstairs, i then go to the fron of the store and put the lights on, get the cash out etc etc and i come back and the door to upstairs is open just enough for someone to pass through it, its as though she knows im here and she goes back home.
good luck

I don't think she needs a therapist. Some people, especially kids, are more sensitive to the paranormal.
Many people (mostly the women) in my family has had one form of an encounter or another. My mom's grandfather came to her in the middle of the night when she was a teenager. She thought it was her dad, when she asked him about it the next morning, he asked her to describe what he was wearing. And it was her grandfather. He died before she was born and she described exactly what he was buried in.
I had the same type of thing when I was little (approx. 2). I asked my mom why there was a man in the hallway. We were alone in our apartment at the time and this freaked my mom out. She went to check and there was absolutely nothing there. I think it was her grandfather again.
My great-grandmother has also "visited" a few times.
If no one is getting hurt by these occurences, then I don't think that you need to worry about it. It can be freaky and confusing, but it's ok.

poltergeist a spirit trapped between worlds
may be in your area. Some believe, some do not, but no one can explain the little happenings.
There are groups of people that claim to be able to rid areas of these spirits, but most of them are fakes.
Tread softly, leave a candle burning as an offering so that the spirit doesn't have to travel in darkness. Incense sometimes works to direct the spirits away from you but can bring them in.
Consult with your local priest or holy person for advice.

generally it is suspected that children are more open to the things in the universe than we as adults have been told to ignore... such as when we hear our names called but no one there, imaginary friends some people believe these ghosts, spirits are talking to children because they listen, knocks on doors, etc.... I would contact a paranormal investigation team in your area and tell them your concerns... and yes a lot of children are able to "hear and see" things that as adults we see but ignore or chalk up to I must be "crazy"
However stop and think... did you yourself maybe turn these items up while thinking of other things? are you under stress? Most paranormal societies (ghost hunters) do not charge a fee if they accept your case... if they do be suspicious....
Not saying small children don't lie.... but they lie only to get themselves out of trouble... think about that for awhile... of course has she seen any horror movies or has somene told her any scary stories about ghosts? I would hope not at her age..

Get your daughter to talk more about what she sees. Let her express herself. Ask her questions about what she sees. Do not dismiss what she is telling you. Children and pets can see spirits, where we can't. You are getting signs and trying to understand what is going on. My mother has been deceased for 12yrs, I can sense when she is around me by the fragrance she use to wear. Taking her to a therapist is the last thing I would do.

I believe that young children can see ghost or spirits because they have an open mind. Tell the ghost that they are not welcome and to leave or follow the light, then bless your house or say a prayer. If need be get some Holy Water and sprinkle around your house as you are telling them to leave. Good Luck.

Things like that can happen. ( this is no joke, so please do not take it this way.) Children, and elderly are often more 'in tune' with their surroundings than actual adults that are not those ages. They tend to see things that we as adults do not see. We were brought up that ghosts are child hood horror stories that simply do not happen. Thats a wrong thing. Ghosts, Spirits and differant odd things can happen. Sometimes its just to let you know they are there. If actual bodily harm happens, I would contact someone to have it taken care of, or move. Some spirits are stubborn, and some are children. Some can be mean at times. They simply need put in their place. They are in some cases like children. They dont grasp the conscept they are between death, and the after life. It takes time for them to pass over. Because of that, it causes differant actions. LIghts being turned on in differant rooms that no one has been in. Knick knacks falling off the shelves. A phone ringing. The tv comming on out of no where.
I had a friend that, had a ghost in his house. Every morning at 5 am that tv would come on. They did some searching and found out that the guy that lived in that house years ago, died in that very house. That his job, made him get up at 5 am in the morning and the tv would go on.
Sometimes it may even be relatives that have passed to let you know they are watching over you like a guardian. They will do things, or make certian scents fall past your nose. They want you to know they are there..but being as they dont have the physical body to reach out and touch you, they have to do things. Like what I have said, to be able to allow you know of their presence.
If I were you I would listen to your daughter and your Mother. They are seeing things. and in no way are they crazy. NO your daughter should not see a therapyst. You want to make your daughter comforted. Hold her, and ask her about what she sees. See if she can explain what she sees.
I used to live in a house out in the country that was right by a grave yard. In this very house a lady died in the bathtub. ( history of the house we found out ) I walked out of My bedroom and glanced into the kitchen. When I did I saw a little boy standing at our kitchen sink. He was about 6yrs in age. He had dark velvet pants on, that only went to his knees. A white crisp shirt on, white socks on and brown shoes. He was dressed as they would in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I will never forget it. He stopped what he was doing turned his head and looked at Me then was gone..just that quick.
One of the biggest things to remember is that ghosts can be controlled so to speak. I would go into your house, and tell them .." look, I know your here. I live here now. If your going to be here, your going to leave things alone. " Let them know in no uncertian terms that you wont allow things that have been happening. Do not be frightened of them. Like I said, most times..they just want to let you know they are there.

Ghosts let their presence known to children because they are more open minded. She'll outgrow it. In the mean time ask her the ghosts name and details about them. If she thinks you believe her ( I would ) she can probably tell you alot. Then the next time something happens just smile and say " Honey, next time you see your friend ask him not to do that again please ". That is if it's a " playful ghost ", if it isn't ,. and your daughter will know, get the hell out of there.
