Does the world not comprise of more than the USA?

Contrast with the Soccer World Cup. A proper World Cup with teams from all over the world participating!

It's Called the world Series because the best players in the world, play in the Major Leagues. And its not only Americans. There are players from Japan, Latin America, The Carrbean, China, Taiwan, Canada, France, Australia, Germany, All over. so it really is a "world" series.

The Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series in 1992 and 1993.

Because there are players from all over the world playing on the diff. teams in Major League Baseball. The actual world tournament is the World Baseball Classic

First of all, Toronto Blue Jays (Canadian team) won the world series 2 times in 1993 and 1994.
Now, it's called the world series because of the diversity of players representing their countries in MLB. There are many players that were born outside the US like Albert Pujol, Ichiro Suzuki, Chan Ho Park, etc. The games are being held in American ball parks (and one Canadian ball park) but the players represent the world.

Because more than 50% of MLB players are from other countries now a days. PLUS, there is a team from Canada still in the league.
But they call it the world series, because of all the foreign born players currently on MLB rosters.

Canadian teams can play in the world series!! But i have no idea why it is called the world series if only two countries play in it.

Because, limey, the best players in the world play in Major League Baseball.
There are Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Venezuelans, Cubans, and even Australians, Italians and South Africans in MLB or at least in the MLB farm system.

at one time there was 2 teams from Canada, Montreal expose ,now the Washington capitals
the Toronto blue jays they have won , 1 maybe 2 world series

Because it was originally sponsored by a (now defunct) newspaper called The World. They just never changed the name.
