yea its definalty someone who has low self esteem, i know it seems weird that they might talk about how much they love themself all the time, But its the same theory as a bully, a bully who thinks they are just awesome truely hates themself inside and takes it out on others, Kind of like half the people on this yahoo answers, Just bullys because they hate themself. He is probably feeling self concious and is fishing for you to say yea yea your awesome. Be careful low self esteem in people can lead to hurtful actions and just bad things. Be honest, ask him how he really is feeling inside, if he is hesitant, like "what are you talkin bout girl" then he probably has major issues and need a therapist, My husband was like that and he got therapy and realized it was really a deep underlying issue from child hood, crazy how those things come out, good luck!!

Seems like he has a problem with self-worth (self-esteem) and needs to boast so much in order to convince himself of his own worth. Usually these people are not very successful about the areas they boast about. I know because I have a brother just like that. I feel sorry for him because of this problem, but I must also admit, it is very annoying at times.

Chow!!

"Self esteem" and "inferiority complex" tells us what? The problem with labels is.... they are meaningless except to those whose life revolves around "thinking about things".... as opposed to seeking to understand the causal behind things.

What drives boasting, arrogance, and singing ones own praises is fear of being inadequate.... which means within that person's MIND is a belief that he/she is inadequate. The opposite behavior is the way that person's MIND "vents the energy generated from repressing this fear" and the venting is projected in ways intended to prevent the person from discovering what his/her MIND believes is true due to a number of deeply repressed misperceptions taken-on at or near the person's birth.

If he is not on marijuana then his problem is "Balooned Ego" - big baloon ! All u have to do it agree with him . None who has ever had that , has ever been one of those mentioned above - greatest , best - nothing .
Certain forms of Inferiority complex can develop such conceited views of themselves .

People that always brag do so out of feelings of inadequacy and self esteem issues. Best thing to do is bust out laughing occassionally when he's on a roll and that will deflate him.
