You are on the right course with your thinking. I think with diversity will come stability. A 4 year degree in Business Management can be applied to any kind of career. Courses for a degree in Management cover alot of topics and areas of business. I would suggest taking up a minor in a more specific realm of business such as communication, economics, finance or accounting, depending on where you want your career path to take you. Most educational instituions do not require you to declare a minor right away, so you can get some of your basic business classes out of the way then see if you want to specialize in something as your minor.
Go for the broad 4 year management degree and get a minor in something more specific. Good Luck

You can't be too broad in college!! Why eliminate choices at such a young age? You are building a foundation that your career will be built on. Take classes that stretch your skills. Philosophy, communications, writing, reading, math, science are good classes for this. No matter what problem is presented to you in your job, the lessons learned in these classes will help you find different ways to solve them.

The broad degree is fine. Take electives in the areas that interest you.
If a school offers both a BA and a BS -- go for the BS. Most only offer one -- in that case there isn't much difference.

Suggest you work for several years after your degree, find out which areas you like, then get an MBA specializing in those areas.
