it is now 8.45 pm in Malta and i am sitting on my computer in just a pair of shorts
the nights are cooler now than last month though the days can be pretty warm
October is the transition between summer [very hot ] and winter so you get hot days and coolish nights .but you can also get some pretty heavy rain
i think the difference between here and Crete is very minor .it could be rainy here and sunny in Crete or the other way round you just have to take you chances

There is not a lot of difference, except that Malta is slightly further into the Mediterranean than Crete and therefore has a little better chance of being warmer. They are both still very nice at that time of year.

malta generally has about the same temperatures but this year we have cooled off considerably already. we are usually still very much in the hight of our swimming during september but this year the beaches are already almost empty. If you take that into consideration and its still september Im not quite sure what it will be in 2 weeks time.

There should be no appreciable difference in weather, as the two islands are along the same parallel. Expect 70's (F) during the day, but cooler at night. Take a sweater!
