I've no plans to boycott Citgo, I may boycott Exxon/Mobile. Both companies have made fools of us.

Chavez has a right to his opinions, just as the US , or at least Bush, has a right to his. All of the players are continually exhibiting both annoying and puerile behavior.

I need to get around. My vehicle eats an awful lot of petro. I intend to keep it. If Citgo sells, and it is reasonable, I buy.

Besides let's take a real good look at Citgo anyway.
Go to Google: Type in "Citgo" Hit "Search" You will bring up list of sites about this very very rich and powerful company which just so happens is headquartered in the state of Texas.

Hit "Citgo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia"

and when you finish that, read some other sites.

Read all about them - and weep .....like the litltle $90.00 to fill my vehicle is going to make a difference!

Are you sitting in Venezuela and telling this? I am sure you may not, or else you are a traitor. Its not the matter of spitting or slandering a country's image. United Nations is meant to be a place for all to express their views in a democratic way.

I wish you understood the poltics behind this spat between Chavez & Bush. If Bush tried to steal your wife, will you still keep him as your cutomer, since he buys your merchandise. Its all about sense of shame and ethics here.

Bush tries to buy the people and leaders presuming that beggars have no choice. Sorry for the harsh terms, but thats what he thinks about other nations. Hope you undersood now!

You only hurt the retailer, the little guy. Citgo is a refiner. They're going to refine, and everything they refine they're going to sell. There's a shortage of refining capacity since Katrina.

I understand that Citgo (once Cities Service) is selling off its retail business. I read it on Y! Answers so it must be true.

And here, more accurately, is the story:
"Venezuela-owned Citgo Petroleum Corp. has decided to stop distributing gasoline to 1,800 independently owned U.S. stations, shedding a lackluster segment of its business while forcing the owners of those stations to find other suppliers."
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/060712/venezuela_citgo.html?.v=3

Forbes says more: that Chavez, to spite Bush, is selling off the refineries too, and that it's a stupid move:

"President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela believes he can tweak U.S. President George Bush by selling his country's Citgo refineries, which process about 865,000 barrels per day of crude, and supply about 7% of the U.S. gasoline market.

"'We are subsidizing Mr. Bush,' Chavez told reporters in Argentina on Tuesday."

Oy gevalt. Read some news from the rest of the world -- you're being fed lies here. Chavez, who has a far higher approval rating than Bush, believes that his country shouldn't be exploited for the profit of U.S.-based corporations. The people of Venezuela agree with him. What a radical idea, maybe you should learn it in the U.S.

Yes, Citgo and now some of them have changed their name to PetroExpress. Apparently news of Citgo's relationship to Venezuela is getting out....

I thought he was pretty funny...I mean, Bush is pretty sadistic, it was the crossing of himself as he said it that cracked me up.

I didn't take it seriously.
