What should I wear? Since it's September should I wear sleeveless dress, should I stick with light summer colors or go with darker colors. I really would love to wear my black skirt but i'm not sure if it's appropriate to a wedding. I've heard that all that has changed now & that is ok but what do you think?? I've gained a few lbs and nothing in my closet is looking appealing right now.......HELP! Oh yeah the wedding is at 4pm and I think it's going to be outside -the weather is supposed to be nice with temp around 86-89 degrees & 71 degrees at night.

I went to a wedding overlooking the beach. I thought perhaps someone called the guests and told them what to wear, because almost all the guests had on black or dark dresses. I wore a black and dark brown tiny leopard print and felt just fine.
I would wear your black skirt with a nice top and not worry about it. Everyone there will be looking at the bride anyway!

Don't wear white because it competes with the bride. There are plenty of other colors available.
Don't wear black or sequins during the daytime.
Don't worry about wearing the same colors as the bridesmaids or mothers. You can't possibly coordinate with everyone in the wedding party.
Do wear something feminine and appropriate, out of respect for your hosts.

The rules have relaxed quite a bit at weddings. Especially outdoor ones. Your black skirt will be fine. You may want to consider flesh tone sheer hosiery for the cooler temps at night, though.

Just wear what makes you comfortable - the main rule is to not produce an image that will take away from the bride - it's her day.

Don't wear white. If you wear a nice, non-black top, I'm sure the black skirt would be fine. I don't think anyone will really care what you're wearing, as long as it's not jeans and a t-shirt.
