We live in a country today that has citizens of many races, creeds and religions - a fun and diverse place to be!

Traditionally being British to me is about the stiff upper lip, never complain, being polite and minding your p's and q's, and of course that tough bull-dog spirit!

Do these values still hold today as part of being British, or have others taken over?

it means being passed over for an immigrant... having to fill in job applications with a lot of silly questions.. ringing up the bank and getting someone you cant understand talking to you.

I am not british, but worked there as a tennis coach, thank God that America is a big country, and hopefully we will never get over run like England, now you travel around the country, and it is hard to find a true Brit, they are from India, or 20 other countries, they don't have the great British values, that my friends there have and I have enjoyed for many years, these Johnny come lately have no values and the word class they can't even spell, I feel for you guys, in more ways than one, the other way is England has become very dangerous because of all the influx of these new british citizens! I think they should just be called Citizens, because they sure as hell are not British, and don't give a dam about the Union Jack!

I used to live in Britain.
Boy, am I glad I got out.
It was bad enough in the 70's; now look at the place.
Brits (I know I'm generalizing) are:
Lazy (not "reserved")
Rude (not "humourous")
Sciving
in debt up to there
Well educated (they have some of the best-trained brains in the world).
Naive
Unwashed and smelly
Angry
Compliant (look at all those people in queues with their heads bowed)
Unthinking
Suffocating in beaurocracy, rules and regulation
Unimaginative
Grossly overpaid
Grossly overtaxed
Sheep-like
Traffic-bound
Whining
An "I can't" (as apposed to "I can") nation
Turning into a have-not country without realizing it
A fantastic transportation system (but they trash it)
A great history and heritage
Foreign policy and influence (it's waning though)
A belief that Britain is still, somehow, great.
Good beer (but it's becoming harder to find among all that disgusting Brit-lager)
Unbelievably high prices (you've been warned, you prospective travellers to the UK!)
Dirty streets and buildings
Hopelessly inefficient and unproductive (check on annual vacation entitlements and watch workers while they are at "work").
Dreadful, dull weather (that's not their fault, but it contributes to the malaise).
The favourite topic of conversation is endless debates on the best way to drive from A to B and which "car park" to use.

The Scots and Welsh won't like an English Saint George's day for all of england. enable's be genuine approximately ourselves....the Union has continuously been a annoying affair with resentment, rivalries and chips on the shoulder as consistent good factors. it extremely is purely in conflict time that we sense something like as one.

being British seems to mean that our doors are open so come and take from us, get a free house, dont work then join an extreme religeon and then stand on the street shouting how much you hate the west, England and its values - brilliant.

Those values are long gone, i think it's more about what you can get for free these days.

resources in this country now go to those who either can't help them selves or more often than not don't want to.
