1. b] and c] are both correct, but b] is better. c] sounds awkward and might not be understood quickly when said verbally. a] gives a picture of an impossible situation where the essay was typing quickly.

2. a] is correct. b] is wrong and gives the ridiculous picture of the crowd sailing over the outfield wall and going wild.

1. and 2. deal both with the subject of "dangling participle." In 1. the participle is "typing quickly". Just ask yourself: who was typing quickly? You know it was Oscar. So, place the word "Oscar" immediately after "typing quickly". In 2. the participle is "sailing over the outfield wall". Ask yourself again: What was "sailing over the outfield wall"? You know it was the ball. So, place the word "the ball" immediately after the participle. The correct sentence would then be: Sailing over the outfield wall, the ball caused the crowd to go wild. But a] sounds better.

3. b], of course, man! If you still say "pens is" up to now, I won't believe you.

Number one. a) would indicate the essay was typing quickly
c would be most correct.
Number two. b. who went sailing over the outfield wall? In b, the crowd.
Number Three. Pens is plural. More than one. Therefore, "are", not "is"

In the first example...all three could be used, although b would be the most common
In the second, a could be used but definately not b
In the third, a is definately not correct, although b could be used, but it isn't perfect grammar by any means
hope this helps
