Depends on what kind of fun you are looking for.
Howler monkeys are musically entertaining, and about 4-5 can get in, if the drummer goes for a simplified set-up, and lower-end Marshall amps are used.
Proboscis monkeys make the best stand-up comedians, and choosing females rather than males frees up the space considerably.
Remember to fill the barrel completely, in accordance with the expression. A quarter of a barrel of monkeys isn't much fun.
