Tech question-toshiba sd-r5372v DVD Green light flashes then stays on?

My toshiba sd-r5372v DVD writer acts like its reading a cd but then the green light stays on and it acts like it is done but its really just stuck? Anyone have any ideas about why it is messing up?

I just upgraded the firmware and its not that.

I would guess that it's the brand of discs you're using.
