The league would have to use their tie-breaker system to determine which teams make the playoffs. Things like head-to-head record, points scored and points allowed all factor into the equation... It's convoluted, but the NFL does have rules in place to take care of something like this...

I agree that it is unlikely to ever happen. However, the NFL itself would love for this to occur. All of the rule changes regarding personnel and salaries were designed to keep teams in a constant state of flux so that dynasties can not exist. For instance, have you ever heard the various playoff probabilities before the last two weeks of the season? Every team is in it except the Raiders.

Rangersfa... said it best. The playoff seeds and wild card placements would be decided via points scored, points allowed for each team, each division. It sure would be interesting. I'd like to see it. Is it mathematically possible, 32 teams, each 8-8?

That would be impossible. The reason some teams are so bad is because other teams are stacked.

It's not impossible, just very very unlikely. And it would come down to tiebreakers to figure out who would make the playoffs.

Then we would know for sure that sports are fixed. Because there is just no way that this will ever happen.
