I think so. When I was growing up we spent almost every single day outside playing - rain or shine or snow. We invented games to play, and used our imaginations a LOT. Now, I hardly ever see kids outside playing - they're all inside watching TV, listening to iPods and playing video games. They don't need to use their imaginations because everything is so graphic.
I'm not saying that all computers and video games are bad - the computer is an amazing resource, but I think it's being misused. Now when I ask my nieces and nephews to play Kick the Can with me, they run to the computer and ask me what URL to go to so they can play. I think that's sad.

Techno wise - no - otherwise yes. Kids today are lazy....they sit on their computers for hours on end doing who knows what. God forbid if they went outside to play - they might sweat or get a bit dirty. They also want instant gratification - which computers will do (i.e. speed, etc) - if they don't get it from a human - all he** breaks loose. I feel sorry for them when they become a parent because their children will be 100 times worse. My opinion of course. :)

I wouldn't say its the all the technology.I think it has to do with the way people are parenting now. These days you cant even spank your child without someone calling child protective services. The thing is if your going to beat your kids no law is going to change that.My children talk to me in ways I would have never spoke to my mom and they are only 3 and 5.I of course cant spank them because I have really nosy neighbors. One of my neighbors called the police when I accidentally got hit in the face with the door and it bloodied my nose. She told them my boyfriend did it because he is Mexican she automatically assumed he was an abuser and didn't even ask what happened. The police then said I was just trying to protect him and they arrested him.We are getting a lawyer so we are going to handle this. With this incident I could only imagine what would happen if one of my kids got a spanking.

America is far worse today than it was 20 years ago. I remember all the wholesome shows on T.V. and the good our people stood for. The internet has made it easy for people to commit crimes, be child molesters, and steal people's identities. It is only going to get worse. Of course, the Bible has told of this and it has to happen in order for GOD to come and set things the way it was intended to be.

it has changed everywhere, and for the worst. that is most unfortunate that the next generation will grow up with fewer values than us, and ambitions. videogames can play a part if there is an abuse, but at the end of the day, i count the parents in aswell.
