In general more people have died in religious wars than from any other cause, and it's not just Islamic wars or genocide. Stalin and Mao were together personally responsible directly for the deaths of about 50 million people, and this during times of "peace". But religious conflicts have claimed more lives than has any other cause.
Hunger and disease also account for a great many deaths in third world countries. Add them all together and you get an idea of the scope of human suffering around the world.

Not necessarily a jihad, but 14 African countries in addition to the countries you mentioned are experiencing acts of genocide. Sometimes it is religion based, other times simply tribal. But like in Nigeria there is now a distinctly relgious basis behind the killings. In Nigeria the government has allowed the locals in the north to practice sharia even for non-muslims. The non-muslims are executed at a far greater rate than muslims in the secular courts.

That is called a leading question, not a rhetorical question. For the world taken as a whole, a person has a greater chance of drowning in a bathtub than being killed by any action of Islamic jihad.

No. Jihad cannot be responsible as Islam is a religion whose every action has its rules and procedures. Certainly Islam does not subscribe to any of these. Reading and understanding the religion by all that want to know will find it peaceful and a guidance for all times, situations and generations. However, the gross injustice in the world value system is primarily responsible. You will find these factors prevalent in all the societies where you find preponderance of suicide bombings, deaths and similar vices - For the citizens of these societies: unemployment, hunger, illiteracy, social injustice, poor infrastructure, deprivation, environmental degradation, poverty and disease; For their governments- corruption, discrimination, threats and blackmail, collaboration, dictatorship, greed and enslavement, political misadventure, neo-colonialism, hold on power and flagrant disregard to the needs of the state and their citizenry.

Most of the genocide happening now is in Africa.
Most of that is not necessarily Muslim vs non-Muslim.
But a lot of it is.
The problem with Islam is the concept of Jihad.
There is no forgiveness, no tolerance, only conversion or death. At least among the illiterate and undeducated Muslim people. The ones being manipulated by unscrupulous clerics and leaders.

Islamic Jihad means the defence of individual, group or communal faith. It could be done mentaly, verbally or physically. However, some extremist choose phisical jihad even before they have won the individual or personal jihad which is being them and their God. Thus the violence you see everywhere in the name of Jihad.

You have to completely understand those terms to figure whether they even apply to the situations in these countries. There are a lot of factors that determine deaths in these countries but i would intellectually say its mostly due to deaths and natural disasters etc.
