So this weekend i'm going for skydiving for the first time. Most of my co-workers think its a bad idea, is it? I know there is a risk, but i been wanting to do this for few years. My brother and sisters like this idea, they want to do it too, but my boss and other co-workers don't think i (anyone) should be doing this. Yes, they do think i'm crazy. Am I?

I say GO FOR IT!!..i've always wanted to go skydiving and people thought I was crazy. They kept telling me i't's a bad idea and what would happend if the parachute doesn't open, bla, bla, blah.... finally I took a chance and went for it. It was an awesome experience, a once in a life time thrill. I had sooo much fun, that i'm thinking of doing it again. So don't listen to what other people say, and do it, you won't regret it!!

I don't think you're crazy. A lot of people skydive, and have you ever heard in the news about someone dying when they went skydiving? I didn't think so. I want to do it too! The companies that host skydiving have procedures that they follow, and they wouldn't still be in business if someone had gotten hurt. They would have been sued for everything they were worth. You probably will never get another chance in your life to do this...go for it!

Before you go up in the air, they will ask you to sign a release saying you or your family or friends or whatever, in no circumstance will have any claim whatsoever against the skydiving facility, the instructor, parachute manufacture or anybody else who are involved in your future injury or death. If you are comfortable with that, go ahead. Also most skydiving death occurs while in the airplane not while actually skydiving.

No, I don't think you are crazy. I have never personally been sky-diving, but I hear from friends (including my husband) that it is a fantastic experience. You will be jumping with a trained and experience jumper who will be taking care of the details for you - like pulling the parachute chords! - so you are going to be considerably safer doing this than, say, bungee jumping.
Another plus over both bungee jumping and scuba diving: sky-diving is significantly less traumatic to the internal organs.
Have fun!

They think you are crazy because they are fearful of the unknown. There is little real danger unless you panic, and since it is your first time, you will probably jump with an instuctor who won't.

Ask this question AFTER/IF you return from the sky-diving trip. (Of course it is risky...you and you alone must weigh the risks..it is your life)

It's something I would like to do. It's not that dangerous. You are more likely to be killed driving your car.
