This is not a racist question - I am just wondering.
I was watching the news this morning and it showed a Muslim man having a go at some person because he is sick of the racism.
When Muslims get annoyed about something they go all the way to do what ever they can - inclusing terrorism. 7/7 & 9/11 etc. However, when I went to a Muslim based country (Morocco), I was insulted, abused (physical and verbally), and called alot of racist names. It wasn't just because the colour of my skin (very white), but also the colour of my hair (blonde). I thought this was disgraceful! If they want repect - they should give it back - I have never been racist in my life, and when I did get it I didn't want to go around killing every Islamic person. I was 14 at the time - a child - I never want to go back there because of the crap I had to put up with. If I went going around flying planes into their buildings - there would be one hell of a fight. What do you think? Wanting both sides of the story.

I am not trying to say that all muslims are bad people - I am just trying to say that I have had abuse and I don't go around screaming my head off - like many muslims do - i just accept it - i think they take thing way too far.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal.. it must have been extremely unpleasant, especially at the age of 14.

It may also have been a case of sexism... women are treated as low as the animals in some foreign societies.

I went to Turkey recently and when I treated a female waitress with courtesy she was astounded that a man would treat her so.

I'm beginning to think the word "racist" actually means anybody who is white and dares to disagree with a non caucasian, based on the general attitude of coloured people displayed on the media.

Don't let this event put you off from travelling abroad, just put it down to experience, and have a happy life!!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience in Morroco. I know many british ladies who went to Morooco, Tunisia, Egypt and Dubai and they loved it there. By the way Morroco is not an Islamic country, it is a third world arabic african country. When you talk about Islamic countries the only example is Saudi. The other point, Islam got no country or race, there are thousands of Muslim men and women in europe, blonde like yourself not wearing head scarf and more religious than the middle east. You will never even imagine that they are muslims as they are no different than yourself and they carry european names. Islam is a believe not a race. Muslims are the target at the moment. The British used to be the most tolerant country in Europe. After 9/11. 7/7..the media is attacking Islam and Muslim as if all muslims are terrorists. I do not deny that all these terrorist attacks were done by Muslims, but you can not label all Muslims as terrorists because of the action of few hundreds or thousands. You can not hate all Muslims because you have been mistreated during a hoilday in Morroco. A recent study showed 80% of UK muslims are exposed daily to racial acts, either verbal or physical. The starnge thing is when the IRA was attacking the UK no one mentioned anything about Christian terrorism or Fascism. It is all media directed war by some wealthy influencial people to acheive certain political goals.

It shows there is racism practiced every where in the world. Much of racism is not thought to be such by those who are practicing it. I have noticed how this racist thing crops up almost everywhere. If I was in a gathering of teachers and am not a teacher, the teachers would be prejudiced against me. This is true in many settings. Such as if I happened into a party where everyone is single and I would be the only married person. The problems becomes much larger when it is race because the groups are so much larger. Now if you were in southern Spain where there are many Moroccans then you would not have noticed the racism. You might just come away thinking as all the people of Spain are friendly. Or the Spanish people were hostile and those of Moroccan descent were friendly because they would be the minority. And remember those terrorists you mentioned have killed off more of their own citizens than they have in the West and terror is an everyday thing in many of those lands.

I find that very strange indeed. I have been travelling through the Middle East with all my white friends (male and female), and the most we got was curious stares. Egypt is a Muslim country that has millions of tourists each year, and I don't think any of them get racism. In fact I know people who have loved it and want to return again and again. Then there is Indonesia where people go for the beautiful beaches, rainforests, surfing etc, and never complain of racsim. Hate to say it, but maybe something about your behaviour on your trip to Morocco offended people there?

PS. You question also implies that all Muslims are terrorists. We make up one fifth of the worlds population, so I think everyone would be neck deep in it if that were true.

There are double standards globally. The West is suffering from Imperial guilt about our past and the things we did, but this cannot, or at least should not, last several generations. In fact, it was those past acts that were the spur to create the societies we and the Muslims of this country now enjoy. We shouldn't change the way we live, or the way we treat other cultures, but we cannot idly watch our citizens or our allies be attacked. The silent majority of this country must be heard, either by our ballot papers or by protest. The Muslims of Britain are not the only ones that can walk past Westminster.

Dear, if your said story is only truth than I am sorry to say. It does not mean that whole nation and culture and religion is sick, if some people are extremist or if they have no respect.
I think you should not blame the whole Muslim nation. Do you believe that every person in other religions are 100% perfect and they never done anything wrong or there is no criminal activity in religions other than Muslims.
This net was spread by some reknowned politicians of World and they want to get their goal by using Muslims. Its only a blame to Muslims and I believe it is the only truth.
However, I again say sorry to you. They should not disgrace you.
Please think again upon your question.

i am sorry you had this experience ,i follow a saying i once heard the buck stops here i think its good advice for everyone ,i think we all want peace dont we well this is how it works if a person hurts you verbally or physically weather from another background or not get over it move on dont retaleat on the next person just because they come from the same background and dont assume that all people from said background are bad or you will disrispect them without realizing it and in return your asumption may be supported as a result most people can pick up hate vibes and it causes ill feeling you will just be mimicking the world leaders if you dont open your mind and heart to forgive means you must forget try i know its not easy believe me i carry scars but no baggage thank god

That's a fantastic question, Yes, the Muslims have no respect for our Christian Faith. They try and force it down your throat, while Born-Again-Christians, tell people about God and the way to Jesus and Eternal Life, then let God do the work.

I was also in Morocco, a few years ago, and I can definately back up what you said, It's not exactly on my list of countries to re-visit either. However, as a Christian, I still pray for them so that they're eye's will be opened to The Truth and The Word of God. If i went to any islamic country and preached The Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, They would have me hung, drawn and quartered. Sadly it's the same in this country, we offend them in the slightest way and they create a riot.

For the Pope to apologise for what he said, and what he said was correct, just because Muslims didn't like it, is absolutey shameful. They are now trying to justify themselves by saying it's offensive. I could list thousands of things that I find offensive about them, but there used to be a thing called "Freedom of Speech" and we still have that right........as long as the Muslims don't mind......!

Where religion is concerned, common sense disappears. The Liberal Scottish Government running this country(England) seem to think that the word Muslim is the name of a country, because if you upset the fragile feelings of the followers of this faith they globally band together,as thier main tenet is global religious domination. You do not see any mullahs blowing themselves up,only the sheep. So from my point of view the uk is finished and will soon be taken over by the Muslim council of Britain.3 cheers & hurrah! I,m leaving so i don,t care.

You should go to the middle east...

If you find 3 people working for more than an hour a day, let me know. All the workers are Malaysian, etc.

Plenty of time to hold those ridiculous rallys in the streets.
