Taking things seriously most of the time I would say I know a few people the consider the act of uncontrolled gass as down right rude. Being the type of person that looks to remedy an embarrassing problem I would look to products the help. Beano is sold at most stores. There are other products that help, like a cushion that obsorbs oder. Good luck.

I am going to assume that you live in America. In most states, your employer can fire you for almost any reason. Unfortunately, there are no protections or provisions for flatulence. If you were fired, it is a pretty weak reason, but your employer would claim that they were "embarrassed". I agree that it is difficult "to hold in" and normal to have flatulence, even if the odor is offensive. My question is why you did not excuse yourself? What was going on at that board meeting? Good luck in finding new employment, in case you have or are losing your job.

Yes you can, if they are petty. They can also deny unemployment $ from you, too. They can say the reason they fired you was because of "Misconduct". But then you can fight it and appeal.
Check with an Attorney in your area who specializes in Labor Law.

some companies can fire you for no reason. you sign a statement at time of empoyment saying they may terminate your employment for no reason. i guess if you do get fired it would be an awesome way to go.
When you look for a new job, you'll have to put that on your application for "reason for leaving". :) how funny
