If you use outlook express you can go under options (depending on what Outlook you are running) and there will be a place for you to check "read receipt confirmation" and it will send you an email when the original email was openend.

It depends. You can do this on some email programs, for example, Microsoft Outlook. When using Outlook and before you send your email go into "Options." You will see two checkboxes. One is used to "Request a delivery receipt for this message," and the other is to "Request a read reciept for this message." Just click on the box or boxes you want, and the email recipient will be asked to verify the receipt of the email. Of coure, the recipient also has the option not to send a receipt if he or she wishes.

On the internet you can see if the person opened the message, if he read it or not, it depends on him. Just check on the delivery options of the outlook for a receipt of display.
If you are talking about sms messages, there is no way.

Some email programs such as Outlook Express allow you to ask for a receipt. This comes in the form of a confirmation email when the person opens your email. They do have the option not to send it though, so you may not get one even if you ask.

It depends on the program you use. some programs like the email on myspace will allow you to see if the person has read your email yet. yahoo email on the other hand does not let you see if the person has read it.

When I email it from my provider email there is a little box that I can check that says [notify when read], but I don't think that Yahoo has that feature yet. I may be wrong. Hope this helps a little.
