What makes me so angry about the continued flogging that Madonna has been getting over this "crucifixion" scene is that the people who complain about it and condemn it have not even seen it first hand. You cannot judge art unless you have experienced it. The crucifixion is sensationalistic, sure, but in the context of the show, it is hardly blasphemous, or really even that shocking. Madonna has meaning to her madness - she always has... When someone says that she is "irrelevant" these days, I just have to laugh. She has packed more relevance into her almost 25-year long career than most can pack into their entire lifespan. Irrelevant? Try Fergie, Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Simpson (and sis Ashlee), Paris, Ciara, Kianna, et. al. NBC should show some balls an air the concert in full. It was simply phenomenal - and the highsest grossing tour of any woman artist in the history of music. When are people truly going to give Madonna the cred. she deserves? She is a survivor - the only real survivor from the 1980's. And she is a "performance artist" not a pop star. Get with the program!

I don't think Madonna is a good roll model for our children. I will say that I like a majority of her songs but the sacreligious videos she makes are in very poor taste I don't care what religion she is. I wouldn't let my daughter see her in concert even if she was performing free in my neighborhood untill she cleans up her act. If they censor the program and cut the mirrored cross out and any other thing that is vulgar then maybe they could.

Madonna has always be on the edge of musicality. She has always had controversies surrounding her, but her music still is so popular and she has millions of fans around the world. In US, I think the freedom of speech and expression entitles her to perform anyway...

3 Offensive BUT if she was sitting on a turban or making fun of ALLAH - ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE! so thumbs down for that tramp.
4 I love this hypocritical society. She can do that and nothing is said. Christians don't riot or any other religion will not riot if they are made fun of. Can't offend Muslims or you might be blown up or riots will start. Chanting "DEATH TO AMERICA". crazy CRAZY world.

Yes, we've been through this with her before. She's out of the spotlight, so she's stirring up controversy. It's really pretty desperate of her.

My fear is that NBC will "clean it up" for general audience. Id rather see MTV show it exactly as performed.

Yes, at this point, I'll take any official TV viewing of her concert, even if it's edited.

get over it already! of course they should. last time i checked, religious 'blasphemy' was still covered under freedom of expression. you know, my beliefs include not killing animals for food but you don't see me whining about the constant barrage of burger king commercials. it's entertainment not a church service!
