Ahhh. Alice's Restaurant was the very first song I put on my IPod. If you grew up in Western Massachusetts (Berkshires), Arlo Guthrie is a staple in your CD player, along with James Taylor. There actually is a "real" restaurant that he's writing about. Every time I drive by, I hum the song to myself. Thanks for bringing up such a great memory in the middle of the workday! :)

I love Arlo. Alice's Restaurant is a great album. I love the Motorcycle Song (the Significance of the Pickle). We play that in one of my bands, along with Ring Around the Rosie Rag.
I'm fond of Chilling of the Evening, Highway in the Wind, Gypsy Davy, I'm Going Home, Now and Then, damn, he's got so many good ones.

"Last to Leave" always seems to be stuck in my head, such a sweet little song. Also "Darkest Hour" and "Ocean Crossing" are some of my other favorites. There's a really good live album he did with Pete Seeger back in 1981, 2 disc set, lots of good tunes from both of them. Somewhere on an old VHS tape I recorded Arlo with the Boston Pops Orchestra on PBS many years ago. It was a great concert, it prompted him to start touring and doing shows with orchestras all over the country, one of which I caught in Buffalo NY. He also made a movie of "Alice's Restaurant," which actually featured Officer Obie as himself.

How about the in reality residing Boy In lengthy island. And of my well-known, it truly is S & G fingers down. It would not get a lot more advantageous acceptable than them.
