Ironically for President Bush, Saddam Hussein was fighting against al-Qaeda and Islamic fundamentalism in the Middle East. President Bush took out an ally in the war on terror! This would be like President Roosevelt taking out Stalin, a strong ally against fascism who helped us defeat Hitler.

Who remembers when Hussein let all the people out of his prisons before the war? Who were those folks? Many of them were Islamic extremists who are now threatening Iraq's stability. I will never forgive Saddam for letting those extremists he'd jailed out of jail! But I give him credit for jailing them in the first place.

According to ALL the official reports coming out of the BUSH administration, there are NO connections between Saddam and Al-queda. Go figure.

The only link between Saddam and Osama is that Bush hates them both. Aside from that, Saddam would have nothing to do with Osama, since Al-queida wants to replace all the secular governments in the middle east with Taliban-like theocracies, which would be totally opposite what Saddam would want.

Saddam and Bush have more in common than Saddam and Osama. (For one thing, they both have taken orders from Dick Chaney.)

Saddam had no ties to Al Queda. In fact he considered them to be his enemy and a threat.
Remember the U.S. Supported Saddam for many years...

yes there were.
Saddam and Osama were not exactly kissing buddies, but they had common enemies- the US and the Shias. Of the two, the US was seen as the more tempting target (one of the reasons why Iran and the Shia rulers of Syria support AlQuaeda even today). The link was "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

Saddam used to send $25,000 to the family of every muslim homocide bomber...
If that isn't direct support of terrorism then nothing is...
