No, it isn't todays music that's doing the damage...it's today's RAP. Rap is NOT music. There is no melody, no harmony, no nothing -- it's just a bunch of jerk-offs talking to a beat, glamorizing drugs, rape, murder, defying authority, breaking the law, and in general having zero respect for anything (including yourself). Nothing cracks me up more than seeing some twit suburban white guy trying to dress, talk, and act like he's from the 'hood, but at the same time it's sad to see kids thinking there's ANYTHING cool about that lifestyle...

Todays music is destroying the music of yesterday which already destroyed the youth of yesterday and who are in turn destroying the youth of today.

I think that people who say that are absolute morons! People have been saying these things for generations. Think of all the parents who thought the Beatles were bad, or Led Zeppelin, or any of them!
Kids who do things that are wrong and blame it on songs they listen to are lame. I have listened to an immense amount of music in my lifetime, but it doesn't mean I will become a gang member, go kill cops, go drug deal, or get high as a kite.
Poeple and kids need to understand that most songs are written by people who are using life expereinces to get out their frustraions, winnings, failings, and doubts.
Music is not destructive, it is a life saver!
