i have applied and did not get treated badly..most of the worker's are kind and helpful...however, i must tell you the system usually turns you down and you have to appeal and go through the steps, it is tiring and annoying but stand your ground and do not quit trying. gather as much information as you can, and take it to the worker....

Not really. Since so many disability applicants are able to work at some job, even if its not in their preferred field, social security applicants are treated like dirt. The system needs reform so only those who are really incapable of holding a job are the only ones who get disability.

Someone who worked for the Dept in my area told my dad they always do that to discourgage the people who don't really deserve the benefit. Not so much being treated poorly but denying the claim. You must be persistent if you are entitled to the benefit. Good Luck!

get a lawyer. If you have an honest claim, they'll treat you much better, you'll get more money, AND it'll go faster.
Any run of the mill ambulance chaser will do. No need to go all out on this.

Yes... Get an attorney to file for you. Then they never have to see you to treat you like anything and you'll be more likely to get approved on your first try.

hire a retired consultant or a lawyer, preferring a consultant over a lawyer
