How would you know it stings? Have you worn one? If you've been wearing thongs a long time, you forget that they are there. And to answer your first question, it's to avoid a panty line in a tight or thin pair of pants. That looks unattractive!

Girls where thongs when they don't want pantie lines to show on the outside of their clothes. Thongs don't sting either, if they do when you're wearing them then you shouldn't wear them.

They are much better to wear than to have big granny panties on, or panties with the lines that show through your pants. That is much more uncomfortable. Thongs are fine ~ they aren't bothersome, and people feel more confident knowing panty lines aren't showing through what they're wearing.

Actually, you don't even feel it. I was hesitant to try cuz I thought it would be annoying, but now that's all I wear!
Commando is just gross....

Doesn't bug me, but I still prefer commando. For that matter, I hate all pants and panties.

As a matter of fact ~ I prefer nothing at all. They are annoying and as uncomfortable as hell.

No I actually find that it is a lot more comfortable - once you're used to it.
