Take the dead body out of the boot and finally get around to disposing of the evidence then spray febreeze and stop killing people when you are out driving.

I had a car that had a smell some years back and the problem was due to a small amount of water getting into the rear footwell when it rained - the carpet was therefore always damp and always smelt bad. I checked everything, door rubbers, rear windscreen rubbers and even the sill drainage holes to see if they were blocked. I could not figure out where the water was coming from. I eventually sold the car, in summer when it smelt fine.

This may sound odd, but it works to get rid of the smell of fresh paint etc

Peel an onion, and quarter it, placing the pieces around the car.

It seems to dispel the bad odour, and you do NOT get an overpowering smell of onion!

You could follow this up with one of the many car 'air fresheners'.

I hope this helps - at least it is not expensive!

Hi there, do you stay mear an asda store?? If so there is a great product i used for the same problem, it's a normal room carpet freshener, can't remember the name but it cost about £2 and it is a great bit of kit for your car, it comes in a summerfruit and a clear air (Summerfruit is best one!!) you can find it next to the normal air fresheners..

Hope this helps....

I used a fan heater on warm on the floor of the car with the windows slightly open. It works even better if you crack the sun roof open slightly

Keep moving the heater around the car to stop damage to any soft fittings.

This could indicate a leak or a fault in one or more of the rubber seals on the doors and/or windows id one has been replaced.
