I nominate you for "Most Ignorant Question of the Day"!

The oil companies do not rule our country or even have any significant impact on the governance of this country in any way. Your bizarre and unsupported assumption is a classic example of propaganda.

Why do you people waste time with your bizarre lies?

Oil companies do not rule our country. We rule everything. It boils down to supply and demand.

In the spring when people begin talking and planning vacations, demand goes up - and so does the price.

In September, when the kids are back in school and vacations, for the most part are over, price drops.

It's as simple as that. Additionally, though, it is because we Americans want what we want and we want it now. I am from the WWII era when rations were in effect. Some foods, and gas. My Mother shopped with her ration book and my Dad gave up his car and joined a car pool. Next time you go out, look around. How many cars do you see with only the driver inside? We want our own cars, and the bigger the better.

We run the oil companies.

It the Cycle of Life...

Soon, there'll be a Democrat in office and the country will be ruled by Lawyers, Unions and Insurance Companies....

Wouldn't it be cool if General Mills could put up billions to front political policy? One side would be pushing their candidate as "wholesome and healthy" while the opposition would give him a derisive nickname like "Crunchberry."

They do not rule as you might think ,but are part of an overall system of control by the rich to maintain labor costs .
Once prices go up they seldom go down .So truckers who raised prices and shipping companies set new pay advances for them selfs .
It is all part of the plan so do not worry unless you are a minority .

Cause they got the oil and the cash. Remember the golden rule. He who has the gold makes the rules.

Because we give them hundreds of billions of dollars to feed our need for automobiles (and all they "mean to us). A small fraction of these billions are then re-invested back into buying Congress and the White House.

Because you all let them.
Look at how few people bother to vote, how many think it's not their problem, and how your media and politicians manage to keep so many people occupied with trivia and lies to keep them from thinking about the real issues...
